PGT: Luke Donald beat Lee Westwood in a playoff at the BMW PGA Championship on Sunday to claim the No. 1 world ranking

PGT: Luke Donald insists he's the best player in the world. After Thursday's round at the BMW PGA Championship, the rankings may no longer disagree.

WENTWORTH, England (AP) -Luke Donald started his bid to become the No. 1 player in the world in style Thursday, overcoming wet and windy conditions to shoot a 7-under 64 and open up a two-stroke clubhouse lead in the first round of the BMW PGA Championship.

The car giant doesn't see an EV in every driveway--yet. Last week, BMW upset electric vehicle lovers everywhere when Jim O'Donnell, the company's North American chairman and CEO, said that EVs won't work at their current battery range for at least 90% of the population--and that the U.S. government should end the $7,500 EV tax credit.
