Reading books is not just a past-time – it does to your brain what exercise does for your body. As the brilliant Tyrion Lannister puts it in A Game of Thrones, “A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone.” Even Mark Zuckerberg has made it his resolution for 2015 to read more books – leading to the start of his own book club on – where else? – Facebook.
Zuckerberg isn’t the first notable personality to start a book club either. Some of the books Oprah has chosen for her own book club have made wonders for their authors too!
While most of those book clubs feature works published by living authors, there are works in the public domain that we often forget about. And it’s not just the Tolstoy’s, the Dostoyevsky’s and the Eliot’s, but it’s also those thought-provoking works that we forget are very much available for no cost at all!
It’s reading these works that show just how powerful thought is that drives Cynthia Clark. And true to her passion for uncovering works in the public domain, she has established her own book club that will take on various works available in the public domain that stimulates the mind and helps us lead better lives.
The Cynthia Clark Book Club
Cynthia has always had a passion for reading, but unlike other readers who delve into a wide variety of genres, Cynthia sticks to subjects that resonate well with her.
In 2006, she came across [easyazon_link asin=”0684803313″ locale=”US” new_window=”default” nofollow=”default” tag=”shockpublishi-20″ add_to_cart=”default” cloaking=”default” localization=”default” popups=”default”]Maximum Achievement: Strategies and Skills That Will Unlock Your Hidden Powers to Succeed[/easyazon_link] by Brian Tracy and that book taught her so much, particularly about focusing on what you want. She later came across [easyazon_link asin=”1582701709″ locale=”US” new_window=”default” nofollow=”default” tag=”shockpublishi-20″ add_to_cart=”default” cloaking=”default” localization=”default” popups=”default”]The Secret[/easyazon_link] by Rhonda Byrne which is an expansion on the concept of focusing on what you want and that was a game changer for her.

It was this book that started the book club and the moment Cynthia gave serious though into making metaphysics and New Thought her way of life.
Other books discussed in Cynthia’s book club include [easyazon_link asin=”1503055361″ locale=”US” new_window=”default” nofollow=”default” tag=”shockpublishi-20″ add_to_cart=”default” cloaking=”default” localization=”default” popups=”default”]As a Man Thinketh[/easyazon_link] by James Allen, [easyazon_link asin=”B00FIY3KU0″ locale=”US” new_window=”default” nofollow=”default” tag=”shockpublishi-20″ add_to_cart=”default” cloaking=”default” localization=”default” popups=”default”]He Can Who Thinks He Can & other Papers on Success in Life (Timeless Wisdom Collection Book 9)[/easyazon_link] by Orison Swett Marden and the S[easyazon_link asin=”1604598875″ locale=”US” new_window=”default” nofollow=”default” tag=”shockpublishi-20″ add_to_cart=”default” cloaking=”default” localization=”default” popups=”default”]The Science of Getting Rich (A Thrifty Book)[/easyazon_link] by Wallace D. Wattles.
The Road to Being Her Own Boss
It’s only a rare occasion where you see a lover of books not want to take it to the next level – actually writing a book. Among Cynthia’s other accomplishments, she’s also a published author having released a book called [easyazon_link asin=”B00JSFYDN8″ locale=”US” new_window=”default” nofollow=”default” tag=”shockpublishi-20″ add_to_cart=”default” cloaking=”default” localization=”default” popups=”default”]Cynt’s Metaphysical Journey to Millionairess Part One: Follow Along as Cynt Teaches Herself Through Trial and Error, How to Make the Switch from Super Employee to Super Business Woman[/easyazon_link].
Who hasn’t dreamed of taking the leap from being an employee to being your own boss, right? Not having to follow the rules of others and taking holidays for extended periods are just some of the benefits of having your own office – so to say.
In her book, Cynthia details exactly how she turned from being an employee to being her own boss – bruises and bumps included.
Anyone who has a passion for starting their own business can take inspiration from Cynthia’s story. And one doesn’t need to stop there, you can even venture further into transforming into a better you by taking part in her book club!
